Yesterday, thom and I were happily taking pictures with his mobile phone. And then we were happily going through his images folders looking at the pictures we just took when one of the pictures took a very long time to appear. Seems like the phone hung, so we exit and went into the images folder again. And this time we could not even see our pictures icons. All we saw were cracked icons. So we restarted the phone and this time the photos were gone. There were no pictures at all. All gone!! all the pictures we took yesterday and on sat. all gone. And we haven save it into the pc yet.


We checked the memory card. Nothing. We checked the properties of the card and found that 52MB out of the 64MB were used. There were only 12 free MB. But we checked and there were nothing inside!! so where did that 52MB (which should be all the disappeared photos) gone to???


Panicked, (cause we really liked the pictures inside, and that was the SECOND time that we took pictures and the photos mysteriously disappeared) we quickly headed home where he got his warrantee card and headed down to nokia care centre in tampines.



What happened in the care centre was most infuriating.



We got a number and patiently waited.



When our turn came, we were served by an Indian lady. Thom spend 10 mins telling the lady what happened. That we suspected that the memory card is faulty. That the 52MB went missing. And the lady after listening, took a picture with the camera, and said there is no prob with the phone. The camera is working.



Seeing that she DONT GET what we are trying to say, we spend another 10 mins repeating what happened. Thom was closed to drawing out to let her understand us. And after another 10 mins of detailed explanation, she finally said : oh, I got what u meant.



Then she went to the next counter with the phone and spoke to her colleague. Moments later, she returned and told us there are already some preset programs that are in your memory card. That���s why we dun have the full 64MB memory. And theres nothing wrong with the phone.




DUH!!! FOR GODS SAKE!! she STILL dun understand why we were at the care centre for. Why did nokia employ people who have poor communication skills as the front line customer service people??!! thom and i were really pek chek. We took pictures with the phone and the pictures suddenly gone missing and she insisted that nothing is wrong with the phone and the memory card. And they did not even bother to test the phone or the card to detect where the problem lies.



So thom asked her nicely if she can get the technical people to test the memory card from an external reader. We wanted to confirm that its the problem with the memory card and not the phone. At this point of time, another lady by the name of nova lisa came and took over. And started to insists that if we cant read the card from the phone, then it means the card cant be read. No point reading the card from the external reader thingy.


And she is plain fucking rude, I tell u.


Of course we insisted that she go test the memory card. After all we just want to confirm that its the memory card that is corrupted and not that the phone not able to read the card. At our insistence, she finally said : ok lor. If u want to test then I get my technical guys to test the card for you. And reluctantly stomped into the room behind the counter.



FUCKING HELL! I CANNOT STAND RUDE CUSTOMER SERVICE PERSONNEL. AND I LAGI CANNOT STAND RUDE CUSTOMER SERVICE STUFFS WHO ARE LAZY AS WELL. WHAT THE HACK?? ITS SO OBVIOUS THAT SHE IS PLAIN LAZY. ANYWAY READING THE MEMORY CARD TAKES LESS THAN 5 MINS. LIDAT ALSO LAZY.


Aft like about 3 mins, she appeared again and said that the technical guys read the memory card using the external reader and they found a lot of picture files inside. But all the files were corrupted, and thus unable to open.


She said there was no way we can safe the information inside, which we fully understood. So thom requested if nokia can change a memory card, and she said we cant change the memory card, because there is no problem with the memory card. Its the files inside that were corrupted, nothing to do with the memory card. And we demanded that if there was nothing wrong with the card, then why does our files get corrupted every now and then? And she said we must reformat the memory card regularly.


KNNBCCB! do we look like fucking ignorant people to her? Got people bo tai bo chi always reformat your memory card one meh? A memory card is like ur pc hard disc. Will you bo tai bo chi go reformat your computer hard disc? When thom asked her this, she just insists that there is NOTHING WRONG WITH THE MEMORY CARD, SHE DUNNO WHY OUR FILES KEEP GETTING CORRUPTED AND WE HAVE TO REFORMAT OUR MEMORY CARD REGULARLY.



  1. the phone was bought only 2 mths ago and till now, the memory card has failed us twice.
  2. we did not save any other stuff in the memory card. The only files that were saved in the memory card were the pictures we took with the phone.
  3. the last time the pictures went missing mysteriously, thom reformatted the memory card already. And now the card is corrupted again?

YOU TELL ME THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CARD??


Talking to her was really a pain and her attitude is plain fucking bad. Seeing that she do not see what we meant, thom asked to speak to the technical personnel and she told us the company policy do not allow technical personnel to contact the customers directly. We told her but she doesn���t understand what we are saying. And she just conveniently snapped: anyway, they all gone home already. All knocked off. U want to talk to them also cannot.



KNN! I really feel like giving her a tight slap. Then at our undying insistence that the card must be faulty, she finally said (in a fucking rude and bey song attitude) : you want u can come back tomorrow and send your card for inspection. But I can tell you we have checked and there is nothing wrong with the card and our people can only reformat the card for you, which you can do it yourself, and they will not change the card for you. And we said, yes we want to send the card in for inspection. And she retorted: then come back tomorrow lor and rolls her eyes.


And with that, we left nokia, very unhappy and unsatisfied.



Ni nabeh. NOKIA, is this how u train your customer service personnel? What kind of after sales service is this? Your front line stuff have abso-fucking-lutely no technical knowledge at all. Trying to explain to them is a chore. All they can think of is to tell the customer that its not the phone���s fault, nothing nokia can do and hope that we can faster scurry off so that they can knock off early. IS THIS HOW YOU TRAIN YOUR CUSTOMER CARE STUFF?



We went there, already upset cause there is some problem with the phone or memory card and all our information is gone. But no help were given, no solutions were given. And on top of it, we have to put up with rude service.



Really such a disappointment. I have decided. The next phone I am getting will not be from nokia. i am really fucking pissed.


see better with 2 cameras? kiss my ass. whats there to see if the pictures you took kept getting corrupted for no fucking reason and your customer service people are sooooooo unwillingly to help?



end note: if you people ccan understand what i meant thru reading, then i cant see why the nokia care people cant understand when we are talking to them face to face.



updates:
left out something. after we left nokia, we try our luck and went browse to the pictures folder again. and the missing pictures can be seen agian. we rejoiced. we didnt dare use the phone again and first thing we did wen we reach home is to save the pics in the pc first.

corrupted files?? then how come the supposededly corrupted pictures can be accessed again??


thom went back to nokia care centre yesterday. there was a guy there who experienced the same proble, but the poor guy was told to just reformat the memory card. the poor guy didnt even have the chance to take a Q number to talk to the cust service people!


anyway, this time nicer lady served thom and she too initially refuse to change the memory card for thom. only till thom says that if he did not get a new memory card, he is going to nokia HQ. then, the lady panicked and went into the back room to talk to the technical personel and then agreed to change the card for thom.


and u know wat she said? she said that they are doing it out of goodwill. PUI!! i think they are just scared that thom will complain to the HQ and they will get it.


see, they actually can change the memory card for us but they are just plain lazy. anybody goes to them telling them the memory card got problem, they will just say: u have to reformat your memory card. this is like a standard answer.


anyway, we got a new memory card, so case close.


but no more nokia phone for me, thats for sure.... at least not my next phone... i already set my eyes on 1 phone...
