new year resolutions Monday, January 05, 2004 Matt got a message from ah hong last night asking him to go home for reunion dinner and to attend nicholas wedding dinner, which falls on feb this year. And matt replied asking him whether he meant that he go alone or he brought me along and the reply was to bring me along. Though I should be happy with the news, I felt more stressed than happy. Cause the whole family will be there for the dinner and I dun know how they will view me. Sigh. Matt says he wants to bring me to see his grandma first, as his grandma is considered the empress dowager in the family. If she says yes, nobody dares to say no. But before he brings me to see his grandma, he will have to make a trip down and sound her out first. If the situation is not favorable, then we think we better forget about the whole thing.Anyway, today is the 5th day of the New Year and I think I should set some resolutions (something I have stopped doing for the past 10 years or so cause I never get to fulfill them) for 2004. So this year I decided to set them simple and not to be too ambitious. And by next year, I can come back here and see whether I have achieved any of these. 1. To be punctual for work. At least to reach at 9.15 2. To try to chant everyday (10 mins). At least to chant on every week day cause I know I will be out on weekends so I will have no time. haha. 3. To put in more effort in my work. I know I have been slacking. So shall try to buck up. But then, my effort is also relative to my pay. Haha. They have a linear relationship. 4. To sleep earlier everyday. I wanna banish my eye bags and dark eye rings. At least on weekdays also lah. 5. Eat more veges and less meat. And NO SUPPER!! At least on weekdays also lah. 6. Must remember to apply facial and body moisturizer everyday after I bath and wash my face. Must do face and hair mask once a week. im already 24 this year. Have to start taking good care of my skin else I will look like an old hag by the time I am 30. 7. To do some exercise at least once a week. Either to jog, swim, canoe, roller blade, skip, any sports also can. Must keep fit. These should be enough. No point making so many resolutions and yet cannot achieve even 1. All right, I shall work towards these goals. |
