Shi zi lu kou saturday Monday, October 06, 2003 Met power and alvin for dinner on Saturday. Initially, we plan to go jb. But along the way, there is a change of plan. So we went to melacca. The journey there was a long long one. We met at around 7, and reached there at nearly 10. And throughout the long 3 hr ride, we were yakking away, non stop. We talked a lot of cock, about tigers, crocodiles, spiders and chiwawa. Haha. I am amazed at how much we can talk. After we reached melacca, we went to the pasar malam there. The pasar malam was quite big, selling mainly wooden products, shoes and bags. But the bags were not really that cheap so in the end power and I did not buy anything from the pasar malam. But we ate a lot and the food there is ichi ban. Here is a summary (in eating order):1. muar chee: yummy yummy yummy. The dough is soft and there is a lot of grated peanuts!! The peanuts also very fragrant. And best of all, it only cost 1RM!! 2. bqq cuttle fish: I only tried 1 piece. I do not like the taste. Makes my mouth smell and it is very hot. 3. Tu tu kwey: this is the traditional malay tu tu kwey. Now quite difficult to find in singapore. Very yummy also. And must eat when hot. Damn power. 4. Durian chandol: this is the most power among all. The grated ice is smooth and the syrup is very sweet. It tastes so good, even the ice taste better then the ice from singapore. After eating this chandol, you would not want to eat any other chandol from singapore. Haha. Best of all, it is FOC!! Scenario: after we had our desserts, we decided to go to the counter to pay. But seems that everybody there is so busy nobody bothered about us. So we just walked and walked and before we knew it, we were already out of the store and going away. Haha. The people there did not even notice. I guess they were too busy. 5. Rojak: also ordered from the chandol store. this is a great disappointment. The sauce got a weird taste. The rojak got fish cake and kang kong. It looks like a dish of mixed left overs. Yucks. 6. Taiwan xiang chang: very yummy but very oily as well. Will taste even more power if you eat those just out from the pan. I also bought the twisted sugar biscuit and dried bananas. After we left the pasar malam, we went back to the car and went to a hotel to relieve ourselves. While at the hotel, we were looking for a place to park the car but somehow, we were stock in a narrow lane. So alvin and matt went out of the car to see what was happening in front and leave power and me alone in the car. We were damn hum cause on the other side of the lane, there were 2 ah beng bibis sitting on their bikes. Me and power scared that they will come open our car door, so we were holding on tightly to the door. Since the front route was blocked, we had to reverse the car all the way to the lobby there and the lane was damn narrow cause the cars all nyhow park. The way out was really need skill and precision sial. Anyway, in the hotel, there was a wedding dinner going on. And guess what is the song they played at the wedding?? YOU ARE NY SUNSHINE!! I dun believe. And the people were all dressed like they are from the eighties. Power and I were trying very hard to suppress our giggles, and not to laugh out. Haha. Really damn orbit sial. Back in the car, we were all too full to eat. So we decided to go back. It was another long journey back and along the way, power an d I fell asleep. But when we were nearing jb, we woke up and the car was noisy again. When we reached singapore, we were hungry again. So we decided to go geylang for durians. But the durians was not very nice. We only ate 2 and stopped and we suah tiu to geylang, where I shared a prawn noodle and power and gam had wan ton mee. That was the last meal for the day and everybody went back feeling damn full and bloated. I was so full could not sleep and so I stayed up to complete the revamp of my blog. Another quiet Sunday Went to watch once upon a time In mexico. The show was not as good as I expected and matt and I were wondering why it can be the number 1 show in USA. After that, we took a long long train ride to bedok from woodlands. But the journey was still ok as we were talking all the way throughout the journet. I think we are becoming more and more talkative. In the train, both of us were feeling cold, so we decided to have the mutton soup at bedok interchange hawker centre. After the mutton soup, matt came to my house. We surf net abit, watch tv abit and downloaded some pics from his hp and then he went home. A happy and eventful weekend for me and matt. Today: will be meeting my sisters at breeks for dinner later. Matt was posted to ang mo kio 3 today. Initially he was supposed to go back to amk 1. But peter loke sms him yesterday and told him to go amk3 for a project. And my poor dear dear was lost this morning when finding his way to the shop. He took the bus from the wrong direction and ended up in yio chu kang. Hee hee. I am suppressing my giggle. Dear dear will kill me when he sees this. Steady lah, dear. No hard feelings, okie?? |
